Abstract
Pharmacy techs do many things, and while most of the "important" things are left to pharmacists, technicians are responsible for keeping the pharmacy running. In the time I worked at the pharmacy, I mastered using a prescription workflow program, underwent a 160 credit-hour training for technicians, and learned what it takes to keep a pharmacy afloat by yourself. While all most people see are the drugs they end up getting at the end, there is an enormous list of checks that go into every prescription that we dispense. I also find the use of technology in this space interesting, for while it has made all these cumbersome regulations possible due to recordkeeping, it makes so much of it easier that I can't imagine doing any of the job with anything less than what we have. This internship experience has challenged me in many ways but has also given me confidence in my ability to adapt to complicated working environments.
