Abstract

This work drives to discover evidence related to the reasoning for varying perspectives in special education- specifically focusing on negative perspectives and what the reasoning is, and supportive strategies to make the shift to more positive perspectives. This work also highlights strategies that can be implemented in classrooms that will ensure students of all abilities are able to be successful in a general education classroom. From the studies that were highlighted throughout this work, a professional development series was created that highlights key strategies that are important for all educators to know to provide better support for both the teacher and the student within the classroom.
