Abstract
Through a review of studies and literature as well as educational theories, this literature review is a comprehensive understanding of standards-based grading (SBG) and its applicability in high school business education. SBG seeks to provide clear and transparent feedback to students, education, and additional stakeholders while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, equity, and personalized learning. SBG uses core principles like defined learning standards, reassessment, and comportment grading to help provide a more complete picture of student's progress and proficiency in the classroom. Furthermore, this review will examine the characteristics of high school business classes, such as real-world applicability, and critical thinking. It will also explain the rationale behind implementing, or not implementing, SBG within this context.
