Abstract
In the last two years I have worked with various national and international blood cancer groups to provide training on developing peer support group leaders. This training has focused on effective support group practices, preparing to address complex grief and loss and gaining skills in virtual therapeutic spaces. This work has reflected literature review on best practices and engaging peer support group leaders in hands-on exercises that improve their skills in practical ways. I will be utilizing the slides developed for this work to share how these peer support group leaders have gained knowledge and skills that then equip them to be a source of comfort for individuals and families impacted by cancer. Examples of training exercises will also be shared.
